FIX: Visual Studio 2005 incorrectly creates a subfolder and moves a Web project to the newly created folder

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, you have a solution that uses Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server for source control. The solution uses Visual Studio 2005 Team Explorer as the source control client. The solution contains a Web project. You perform a Get operation for the solution. In this scenario, Visual Studio 2005 incorrectly creates a subfolder one level under the solution file folder, and then moves the Web project to the newly created folder. This problem occurs in the following scenarios:

• The Web project is located in the same folder as the solution file folder. When you click Open From Source Control on the File menu in Visual Studio 2005, this problem occurs.
• You add an existing Web project to the solution. The Web project is located in a folder other than the solution file folder. Then, you perform a Get operation for the solution. In this scenario, you may find the Web project folder that is displayed in Solution Explorer is not the exact folder where the Web project resides.
• The Web project is located in a folder that is not a subfolder one level under the solution file folder. You perform a Get operation for the solution by using the Tf command prompt utility. When you open the solution locally, this problem occurs.

Prerequisites

You must have Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1(SP1) installed on the computer.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

File information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
