If you also apply a service pack, an update, or a hotfix package during the installation, the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard unexpectedly runs after the installer program has finished. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, extract the service pack, the update, or the hotfix package files. Then, copy the files to the Updates folder of the program's release version. STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the installer program of the programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
MORE INFORMATIONThe programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section support the installation of service packs, of hotfix packages, and of other updates while the release version of the program is installed. This functionality is achieved by including the .msp files for the service pack, for the hotfix, or for the update in the Updates folder.
