Bug #: 50001837 (SQL Hotfix) Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2005 fix release. SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. In
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services together with SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2, you start Report
Builder by using the following URL: http://ServerName/ReportServer/ReportBuilder/reportbuilder.application?/Models/ReportName You start Report
Builder to edit a report. In this scenario, you can save the report successfully when you click Save on the File menu.
However, the Save As Report dialog box stops responding when you click Save As on
the File menu. Or, the Open Report dialog box stops responding when you click Open on
the File menu. Additionally, the Save As Report dialog box displays
the following message,
or the Open Report dialog box displays
the following message:CAUSEThis issue occurs because Report Builder cannot initialize
the location of the report server. Report Builder cannot do this if you start Report Builder by using a URL
that has a report name that
is specified as a parameter. RESOLUTIONThe fix for this issue was first released in Cumulative Update 4. Cumulative update package 4 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2937137 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 hotfixes are created for specific SQL Server service packs. You must apply a SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 hotfix to an installation of SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2. By default, any hotfix that is provided in a SQL Server service pack is included in the next SQL Server service pack.

WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, add the location of the report server to the
URL if Reporting Services is not running in SharePoint integrated mode.
