SYMPTOMS

When you try to upload a file to a Document Library in a Microsoft HealthVault account health record, you receive the following error message:
Please specify a valid file.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you try to upload a file that contains an invalid file name extension. You can upload a file to your HealthVault account only if the file has one of the following file name extensions.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Sign in to a HealthVault account.
  2. Click the Health Details tab.
  3. Click the Documents tab.
  4. Locate a file that contains a file name extension that is not on the list, and then click Upload file. For example, locate a file that has an .exe file name extension, and then click Upload file.
