Error message when you try to create a new host in the BizTalk Administration console in BizTalk Server 2006 R2: "The parameter is incorrect (WinMgmt)"

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. When you configure Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, you click to clear the Enable BizTalk EDI for this BizTalk Group check box. Then, you try to create a new host in the BizTalk Administration console. In this scenario, you may receive the following error message:
The parameter is incorrect.
(WinMgmt)

Note You can specify whether you want to install Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) by using the Enable BizTalk EDI for this BizTalk Group check box.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because BizTalk Server 2006 R2 checks whether EDI is configured even if you do not install EDI.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, click to select the Enable BizTalk EDI for this BizTalk Group check box. To do this, follow these steps:
1.Locate the installation folder for BizTalk Server 2006 R2, and then double-click the Configuration.exe file.
2.In the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 Configuration dialog box, click BizTalk EDI/AS2 Runtime, and then click to select the Enable BizTalk EDI for this BizTalk Group check box.
3.Click Apply Configuration.
