An instant message invitation on a Communicator Web Access server in Communicator 2007 may wait indefinitely if the sender has ended the instant message

A computer is running the Communicator Web Access Server role in Microsoft Office Communicator 2007. If the Communicator Web Access Server role must end an incoming instant message invitation that was received in a callback event in a collaboration session, the thread that contains the instant message invitation may wait indefinitely.

This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:

• The user who is running Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 is in the "Do Not Disturb" mode.
• The sender of the instant message has ended the instant message.

When this problem occurs, a user who logs in may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

• A contact list contains no contacts.
• An idle conversation does not time-out after ten minutes.
• A user's presence is not set to Offline if the user's session is disconnected.

To resolve this problem, apply the Communications Server 2007 update package for the Unified Communications Managed API v1.0 Redistribution that is dated December 17, 2007.
