SYMPTOMS

When you try to start Microsoft Office Communicator 2007, you may be prompted to restart the computer.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if you have installed software on your computer that requires that you restart the computer, and you decided not to restart the computer. Communicator 2007 checks for a registry key that is shared with other programs. This registry key is used to determine whether you must restart the computer. If the registry key indicates that a restart is required, Communicator 2007 prompts you to restart the computer.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, restart the computer, and then open Communicator 2007.
