The Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007 post-release hotfix rollup is available. This hotfix rollup package includes an installation utility. Use the installation utility only when you have not already installed System Center Essentials 2007 on the computer. If you have already installed System Center Essentials 2007, you must install the individual hotfixes on the existing installation.

937831 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937831/) The installation of System Center Essentials 2007 fails during the Reporting part of Setup and the following information is logged: "The specified domain does not exist or cannot be contacted"
This hotfix rollup package also resolves a problem in which update files are not downloaded to the System Center Essentials 2007 server when you import updates from a partner catalog. This problem is not documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article.

How to use this hotfix rollup package to install System Center Essentials 2007
| 1. | Copy the SCE2007RTMHotfixRollup.exe file to the computer on which you want to install System Center Essentials 2007. |
| 2. | Run the SCE2007RTMHotfixRollup.exe file. |
| 3. | Under Select Essentials 2007 RTM media location, click Browse, and then specify the location of the original Essentials 2007 installation media.
Note We recommend that you specify a network shared location that hosts the original System Center Essentials 2007 installation media. Do not put the original media on the same disk drive as the location that you will specify in step 4. |
| 4. | Under Select local directory to copy Essentials RTM media, click Browse, and then specify a location to save the updated installation media. |
| 5. | Click Apply QFEs and start Setup.
Note The installation utility copies the updated installation media to the location that you specified in step 4. When the copy process is completed, the Setup program starts automatically. |
| 6. | After the Setup program starts, click Full Setup to start the installation. |

How to use the updated installation media to install System Center Essentials 2007 on other computers
If you use the updated installation media to install System Center Essentials 2007 on a different computer, only hotfix 936481 is automatically applied. You must manually run the other two hotfixes after you complete the installation.
To extract the individual hotfixes from the hotfix rollup package, follow these steps:
| 1. | At a command prompt, switch the working directory to the location of the SCE2007RTMHotfixRollup.exe file. |
| 2. | Type the following command: SCE2007RTMHotfixRollup.exe /C /T:TargetLocation Replace the TargetLocation placeholder with the location in which you want to save the extracted files. |
Find the installer (.msi) files among the extracted files.
Note These installer files are also available in the following temporary folder on the computer on which you have run the SCE2007RTMHotfixRollup.exe file:
