SYMPTOMS

After you install security bulletin MS07-040 on a server that is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 on a 64-bit operating system, a CPU usage spike occurs on all the BizTalk hosts.

Notes
  • If you uninstall security bulletin MS07-040, the problem does not occur.
  • If you uninstall the .NET Framework 2.0, reinstall the .NET Framework 2.0, and then reinstall security bulletin MS07-040, the problem still exists.
  • This issue does not occur on a 32-bit operating system.
  • On a 64-bit version of BizTalk Server 2006 or BizTalk Server 2006 R2, when you shut down a 64-bit BizTalk Server host instance, the shutdown process may take 60 seconds to finish.
