How to back up and restore the registry in Windows SYMPTOMSWhen you use Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for Oracle Database on a 64-bit server, event ID 0 is logged in the Application log. Specifically, this problem occurs as follows:
CAUSEThis problem occurs because some versions of the Oracle client software cannot handle the parenthesis in the value of the InstallPath registry entry in the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\BizTalkAdapters\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft BizTalk Adapters for Enterprise Applications\ WORKAROUNDWarning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk. To work around this problem, follow these steps:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. MORE INFORMATIONAfter you change the value of the InstallPath registry entry, the BizTalk Adapter for Oracle Database should work correctly. However, when you install or uninstall a hotfix for BizTalk Adapter for Oracle Database, the registry entry may be changed back to the default value. If this occurs, you have to change the value of the registry entry again.
