Excessive memory may be consumed by Exchange Server 2007 on a Windows Server 2003-based computer

Excessive memory may be consumed by Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 on a Windows Server 2003-based computer. Symptoms may include paging and more CPU use when memory is being flushed out frequently. This problem may also cause the following symptoms:

• The application pool resets in Internet Information Services (IIS). Additionally, event IDs 1010, 1011, and 1013 are logged.
• Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access users must be reauthenticated.

This problem occurs because of Microsoft .NET Framework CLR memory management inefficiencies.

We recommend that you install hotfix 942027 on all Exchange Server 2007 computers. This hotfix is important for Client Access Servers (CAS), especially if a computer is servicing multiple protocols.
