The Windows Live Hotmail DAV service allows you to access a Windows Live Hotmail account by using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. This service is scheduled to be discontinued at an undetermined future date no earlier than January 2009. After the service is discontinued, you may be unable to access a Windows Live Hotmail account by using Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007.

When you try to use Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 to access a Windows Live Hotmail account after the service is discontinued, you may receive an error message that Outlook is unable to connect to your e-mail server, or you may receive an error message that resembles the following error message:

How to obtain the software update for Outlook 2003
