SYMPTOMS

In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 organization, a user receives an empty e-mail message that has an attachment. However, the attachment incorrectly appears as the body of the e-mail message.

In Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, the same e-mail message correctly appears as an empty message body and a separate attachment.

This problem occurs if the original e-mail message is a MIME message that has no body and that has only one text or HTML attachment.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Exchange Server 2007 handles the attachment by converting it to a message body.
