FIX: A memory leak in the ole32!CAsyncCall DCOM object may occur when a Windows XP-based client computer connects to a server by using an asynchronous RPCArticle ID: 944112 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen a Windows XP-based client computer connects to a server by using an asynchronous remote procedure call (RPC), a memory leak in an ole32!CAsyncCall DCOM object may occur on the server. Additionally, you have to restart the server. CAUSEThis problem occurs because DCOM does not receive a send complete notification for the nonlocal asynchronous call. The missing notification that makes the reference that depends on the DCOM AsynCall object for the call cannot be used correctly. Therefore, the call object is never released, and a memory leak occurs. RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows XP.
