RGB values for colors may not match the RGB values for standard color templates in Expression Design

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Expression Design, colors may not match the standard color templates. For example, white should have an RGB value of 255,255,255. However, Expression Design may display a different RGB value for white, such as 255,255,208.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the color profile in the Color Management settings is not set to use the standard RGB (sRGB) display profile.

RESOLUTION

To resolve issue, set the color profile to use the sRGB display profile. To do this, follow these steps.

Windows Vista

  1. Click Start

    , and then type Color Management in the Start Search box.
  2. Under Programs, click Color Management.
  3. In the Color Management dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
  4. In the Device Profile box, click any option that contains "sRGB," and then click Close.

Windows XP

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Display.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Click Advanced, and then click the Color Management tab.
  4. Click the profile that contains "sRGB."
  5. Click OK to accept the changes.
  6. Click OK to close the Display Properties dialog box.
