You cannot download an album from Windows Live Spaces immediately after you install Windows Live Photo Gallery

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You install Windows Live Photo Gallery. You try to download an album from Spaces immediately. In this scenario, you are redirected back to the Windows Live Photo Gallery download page.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the registry key for Windows Live Photo Gallery is not set until the Internet browser is reset. Therefore, Windows Live Spaces cannot determine whether Windows Live Photo Gallery has been installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Close all instances of Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then restart Internet Explorer.
  2. Visit the following Web page to sign in to your Windows Live Space:
    http://home.services.spaces.live.com/ (http://home.services.spaces.live.com/)
  3. Download the album.
