SYMPTOMS

In the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Administration Console, users have Read, Delete, and Modify instance permissions to advertisements that they created.

The users can read and delete these advertisements. However, they cannot modify the advertisements. Specifically, the controls on the Properties page are disabled.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Administration Console incorrectly retrieves the instance permissions for the object from Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). Therefore, the Administration Console cannot verify that the user has the Modify permission to the advertisement.
