Xbox 360: How to connect to Bharti Airtel (India)

SUMMARY

This article describes settings that are required to connect to Xbox LIVE by using Bharti Airtel’s broadband Internet service.

Bharti Airtel offers customers gateway devices instead of modem only devices. A gateway device contains the modem function and the router in one device.

If the gateway device is configured correctly so that the computer can access the Internet, use the following network settings on the Xbox 360 console:

PPPoE: Off
IP: Auto
DNS: Auto

To access these settings, follow these steps:

In the System section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Network Settings.
Select Edit Settings.

If you have problems connecting to Xbox LIVE, test to make sure that the computer connects to the Internet. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then try to visit the following Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com (http://www.microsoft.com)

If the Web site does not open correctly, your gateway device may not be configured correctly.

Note The PPPoE settings are set on the gateway device itself. For help checking the settings on the gateway device that was provided by Bharti Airtel, contact Bharti Airtel's technical support.

The following gateway devices that are issued by Bharti Airtel are confirmed to work with Xbox LIVE. Be aware that this does not mean that these specific devices are required to use Xbox LIVE. They are included as a reference of the devices that are known to work correctly.
