SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario.
  • On a Windows Vista-based computer, you play copy-protected material that uses an analog output format in Windows Media Player.
  • You perform a suspend-and-resume cycle on the computer.
  • You change the media from Analog Copy Protection (ACP)-enabled media to non-ACP-enabled media.
In this scenario, Windows Media Player continues to play back an ACP signal in non-ACP-enabled mode.

Note This problem occurs only when Windows Media Player is still open on the Windows Vista-based computer. This problem does not occur if one of the following conditions is true:
  • You close the application before the operating system goes into standby (S3).
  • You close the application after the operating system resumes from standby (S3), and then you restart the application.
