Error message when you try to change an IM conversation into a multiparty conference in Communicator 2007: "Your attempt to start a conference was unsuccessful."

In Microsoft Office Communicator 2007, you receive the following error message when you try to change an instant messaging (IM) conversation into a multiparty conference:

This issue occurs because Communicator 2007 incorrectly creates a new conference with duration of zero minutes. The conference appears to have expired and cannot be started.

How to obtain the hotfix
