When you connect your Zune device to the Zune Dock v1, you may not hear or see any audio or video output from the Zune device.
This problem occurs for one of the following reasons:
- The dock is not connected to a power source.
- The Zune device is configured incorrectly.
- The TV or receiver to which you are connecting is configured incorrectly.
Try one or more of the following:
- If you cannot see any output from the Zune device, follow these steps:
- Make sure that you are using a supported Zune device. Only the Zune 30GB, the Zune 80GB, and the Zune 120GB have the TV out feature. Only the Zune 30GB is compatible with the Zune Dock v1.
- Confirm that you are using the correct TV system. To do this, follow these steps:
- From the home screen, select settings, and then press the center of the Zune pad.
- Select display, and then press the center of the Zune pad.
- Select TV system, and then press the center of the Zune pad to change the setting to NTSC or to PAL. If your TV is manufactured for North America, this setting should be set to NTSC.
- Enable TV out on the device. To do this, follow these steps:
-
Select tv out: off, and then press the center of the Zune pad to change the setting to on.
- Press the center of the Zune pad to confirm this action.
- Connect the Zune device to a power source. Use the Zune Sync Cable to connect the Zune Dock to a USB port on a computer. Or, use the Zune AC Adapter.
- Make sure that the Zune A/V Output Cable is fully inserted into the mini-jack port on the Zune Dock.
- Make sure that the TV or receiver to which the Zune device is connected is turned on and that the Zune A/V Output Cable is connected correctly.
Note Some TVs or receivers may have multiple input jacks, such as Video 1 and Video 2. Make sure that the plugs on the Zune A/V Output Cable are connected to the correct input jacks and that the TV or receiver is configured to use that input source.
For more information about which input jack to use or about how to configure your TV or receiver, see the documentation that was included with your TV or receiver, or contact the manufacturer.
