Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2005 fix release. SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You create a SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) package that contains a Transfer SQL Server Objects task. The source database of the task and the destination database of the task are on the same instance of SQL Server 2005. You set the following properties for the task:

Cumulative update package 5 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2937137 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 hotfixes are created for specific SQL Server service packs. You must apply a SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 hotfix to an installation of SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2. By default, any hotfix that is provided in a SQL Server service pack is included in the next SQL Server service pack.

WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, set the value of the DropObjectsFirst property to "False" for the task. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. MORE INFORMATIONIf the logins have been deleted after you run the SSIS package, you can use the sa account to log in to the instance of SQL Server. Then, you can restore the master database to restore the logins. Or, you can run a script to re-create the logins, and then you can map the logins to the database users.
