When you try to deploy a Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 ClickOnce application, you may receive the following error message:
Note In this error message, <WebSite> represents the actual name of the Web site that you are trying to create.
Error: Unable to create the Web site '<WebSite>'. The components for communicating with FrontPage Server Extensions are not installed.
This problem occurs if you do not have the Visual Studio Web Authoring Component installed.
Note By default, the Visual Studio Web Authoring Component is not installed in Express editions of Visual Studio 2008.
To resolve this problem, install the Visual Studio Web Authoring Component by following the appropriate steps.
Visual Studio 2008 Express editionsTo resolve this problem if you have Visual Studio 2008 Express edition installed, you must download and install Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition.
