Issues that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix fixes the following issues:
| • | 941836 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941836/) You are prompted to approve a connection to a SharePoint feature in Outlook 2003
| • | 945421 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945421/) You cannot send a message to all members of a distribution list in Outlook 2003
This hotfix fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
| • | Consider the following scenario. You create a new e-mail message in Outlook 2003. When you type part of an e-mail alias in the To box, a list of aliases is displayed. When you scroll down the list of aliases, click an alias, and then press TAB to accept the selection, Outlook 2003 crashes.
| • | Consider the following scenario. You add two attachments to a newly created message. Additionally, you save the message as an .msg file to the hard disk drive. Then, you close the message. When you reopen the message, delete one of the attachments, and then try to send the message, you receive the following error message:
The item could not be saved to this folder. The folder has been deleted or moved, or you do not have permission. Do you want to save a copy of it in the default folder for the item?
When you click Yes to save the message, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Unable to perform the operation. The object could not be found.
Then, you click OK to close the error message.
When you delete the second attachment and then send the message, the message is delivered with the second attachment intact.
| • | When you open a Delivery Service Notification message, you cannot read the text in the message.
| • | When you start Outlook 2003, Send/Receive mode starts. When this occurs, Outlook 2003 may stay in Send/Receive mode. This behavior may cause the server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server to generate a log file that grows for each Outlook 2003 client that is stuck in Send/Receive mode.
| • | You use Microsoft Duet together with Outlook 2003. When you drag an item from one location in Outlook 2003 to another location, you are prompted to cancel the move operation. For example, this problem may occur when you drag an event from one time to another time in the calendar. If you cancel the move operation, the item disappears from Outlook 2003.
| • | After you install Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3), the AutoCorrect feature does not work in Outlook 2003.
This problem occurs if the following conditions are true: | • | You use Rich Text formatting. | | • | The Use Microsoft Office Word to edit e-mail messages check box is not selected. |
| • | After you install Office 2003 SP3, Outlook 2003 may crash when you send a signed and encrypted message.
