Excel closes unexpectedly when you open or save a workbook that contains a circular reference

Consider the following scenario. You run an Excel 2003 solution that was created in Visual Studio Tools (VSTO) for Microsoft Office 2003. Then, you open or save a workbook that contains a circular reference. In this scenario, Excel closes unexpectedly. Additionally, you receive the following error message: When you view the data in the corresponding error report, the report contains an error signature that resembles the following:
