Article ID: 945501 - Last Review: March 27, 2008 - Revision: 1.1 Some users do not receive a program that is advertised to a user group in System Center Configuration Manager 2007
On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you advertise a program to a user group in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, some members of the user group do not receive the advertisement. This problem occurs if the user is a member of more than 175 user groups. CAUSEThe Policy Agent component on a client computer requests user policy assignments from the management point. To do this, the Policy Agent component sends a list of the user groups of which the user is a member. Then, the management point returns the advertisements that are assigned to those user groups. The Policy Manager component on the management point receives all the user groups that the client reports. However, the MP_GetUserAndUserGroupPolicyAssignments stored procedure can only process a user group list that is smaller than 8 kilobytes (KB). A group list of 8 KB contains approximately 175 user groups. Therefore, the client does not receive any advertisements that are assigned to the user groups that follow the first 175 user groups in the list.
