INTRODUCTION

This article describes an update that is available to change how Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 starts after you install the program. After you install this update, the following changes are made to the way that Communicator 2007 starts:
  • For a new Communicator 2007 installation, Communicator 2007 automatically starts when a user logs on to the computer.
  • If a user who used Communicator 2007 configured the program to no longer automatically start after the logon process, Communicator 2007 remembers the user settings and does not automatically start when the user logs on to the computer.

After you install the update package, Communicator 2007 writes to the following registry subkeys when the program is first installed:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
