Mediation Server does not handle a re-invite request correctly when it receives the request without having SDP on its gateway side in Communications Server 2007

In Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, Mediation Server receives a re-invite request without having Session Description Protocol (SDP) on its gateway side.

When this occurs, Mediation Server does not handle the request correctly. Mediation Server responds with an SDP that contains the present direction attribute of the peer side of the call.

For example, consider the following scenario:

• Mediation Server receives a re-invite request without having SDP on its gateway side.
• The request is to move a call from one telephone set to another telephone set on the gateway side of Mediation Server.
• The gateway side previously sent a direction attribute of "inactive."
• The proxy side of the call is "on hold."

In this scenario, Mediation Server responds with the direction attribute of "inactive" in SDP in response to the re-invite request on its gateway side.

To resolve this problem, install update 943086.
