SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 issues that are fixed in the Outlook 2003 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated December 13, 2007.

INTRODUCTION

List of issues fixed

This hotfix package fixes the following issues:
946208 Error message when you try to add a delegate in Outlook 2003: "The Delegates settings were not saved correctly"
946209 The AutoComplete feature in Outlook 2003 may not resolve a name that begins with a diacritical mark or an accent
This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

You cannot apply conditional formatting to an e-mail message that contains a Message class

You create a rule to automatically apply conditional formatting to an e-mail message. However, if the e-mail message contains a Message class, the conditional formatting is not applied.

Data is not updated by managed code that uses a SinkHelper class event

You run managed code that uses a SinkHelper class event in Outlook. If the data that is retrieved by the managed code changes, the changes are not reflected in the retrieved data.

A Send/Receive operation causes Outlook to stop responding, and Outlook sends many RPCs to the Exchange server

When Outlook performs a Send/Receive operation, Outlook may stop responding. Additionally, Outlook may send many remote procedure calls (RPCs) to the server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server. If you cancel the Send/Receive operation, the following symptoms occur:
  • The Send/Receive status in the lower-right corner of the Outlook window changes to indicate that no Send/Receive operation is occurring.
  • The Outlook icon in the notification area indicates that Outlook is synchronizing data.
  • Outlook continues to send many RPCs.

Free/Busy information is not published when you run Outlook in online mode

When you run Outlook in online mode, your Free/Busy information is not published. Therefore, you and other users cannot view your Free/Busy information.

Note Outlook 2003 runs in online mode when the Cached Exchange Mode option is turned off.
