INTRODUCTION

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
You attach an XML schema to a Word 2003 document. Then, you try to validate the XML schema programmatically by using the Word 2003 object model. The validation code returns without any errors for the XML header and for the XML footer. This issue occurs even though there are errors in the XML header and in the XML footer.
You use a macro in Word 2003 to create mail merge documents from a very large data source. The macro saves the resulting mail merge documents in the Filtered HTML format. Additionally, the documents are sent to the recipients by using Microsoft Office Outlook. However, when some recipients receive the message, the embedded pictures in the HTML-formatted message display the following error message:
Error! Hyperlink reference invalid.
You open a protected document in Word 2003. Then, you click to select the Highlight the regions I can edit check box. However, light-colored text on a dark background or white text on a dark background becomes unreadable when the text is highlighted as an editable region.
Consider the following scenario. You open a large Word 2003 document. The document contains portrait-oriented pages and landscape-oriented pages. You switch to Print Layout view. Then, you repaginate the document. In this scenario, as you scroll through the document, some headers and footers resize themselves very quickly. Typically, this issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
One of the headers or footers is located on a portrait-oriented page.
The other footer or header is located on a landscape-oriented page.
You create an HTML-formatted e-mail message. To do this, you copy the HTML content from a Web page. Then, you paste the content to the body of the message. When you try to send the message, you receive the following error message:
Unspecified Error
