MORE INFORMATION

This problem occurs if you change the original value in any of the following fields to a value that exceeds the range of the value in the field:
  • Maximum Length
  • Minimum Length
  • Maximum Value
  • Minimum Value
If you immediately close the attribute form that contains the invalid value, you receive the following warning message:
Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?
--------------------------------------------
If you click OK, your changes will be lost.
--------------------------------------------
Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page.
When you click Cancel to return to the attribute form, the invalid value that you typed stays in the attribute form. Then, if you save the attribute form, one of the following events occurs:
  • You do not receive a message from the validation checks, and then the saving process is completed. Therefore, the invalid value is saved.
  • You receive the following error message during the saving process:
An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system administrator.
However, if you save an attribute form that contains an invalid value, you expect that the validation checks will run and will detect the invalid value.
