Error message when you try to view the AD Domains topology view in System Center Operations Manager 2007

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You are using the Active Directory Management Pack together with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007. In this scenario, when you try to view the AD Domains topology view in the Monitoring pane in System Center Operations Manager 2007, the program crashes. Then, you receive the following error message:
Title: System Center Operations Manager 2007
System Center Operations Manager 2007 has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Active Directory view in the Active Directory Management Pack has a monitoring object instance of a type that is marked as Excluded.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
