Description of the mode that GSM modems must support to work with SMS notifications in System Center Operations Manager 2007

This article describes the mode that Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) modems must support to work with Short Message Service (SMS) notifications in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007.

System Center Operations Manager 2007 requires that GSM modems support the Protocol Description Unit (PDU) mode to work with the System Center Operations Manager 2007 SMS notification.

GSM modems that support the PDU mode must be used on a system if you want to use the System Center Operations Manager 2007 SMS notification. Text modes or mixed modes are currently not supported.
