Article ID: 946554 - Last Review: July 22, 2008 - Revision: 2.0 The Win32_Processor class returns the incorrect Name property for the processor in a Windows XP-based computer that has an Intel Celeron processor installed
On This PageSYMPTOMSTypically, a program can use the Win32_Processor Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) class in the root\cimv2 namespace to determine the kind of processor that is installed in a computer. However, on a Windows XP-based computer that has an Intel Celeron processor installed, the Name property is not identified correctly. In this situation, the name of the processor that the Win32_Processor class returns differs from the name that is shown in Device Manager. Specifically, the Win32_Processor class shows the name as Intel Pentium II. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft.
