This article describes the Cumulative Update 1 package for Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007.

Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 hotfixes are created for a specific PerformancePoint Server release version or service pack. Cumulative Update 1 updates the RTM version of PerformancePoint Server (version 3.0.3520.0). By default, any hotfix that is provided in a PerformancePoint Server cumulative update or service pack is included in the next PerformancePoint Server cumulative update or service pack.

Note This build of the cumulative update package is also known as build 3.0.3711.0.

Issues that are fixed in Cumulative Update 1

The following issues are fixed in this package. These issues were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article.

PerformancePoint Planning issues

• When you try to select members from a member view in PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel, you receive the following error message:
  Hierarchy contains a problem. Unable to launch member selector.
• When you try to retrieve assignments, you experience performance issues in PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel. This problem occurs when many users have assignments.

PerformancePoint Monitoring issues

• When you use the PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer, the stated score generates incorrect results when the target value is text.
• When you export to Excel in the PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer, you see an incorrect score.

How to obtain Cumulative Update 1 for Performance Point Server 2007

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.

Prerequisites

To install this cumulative update, you must have the RTM version of Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 installed. The version number must be 3.0.3520.0 or a later version.

For planning, you can view version information on the Help menu, by clicking About in the PerformancePoint Server Planning Add-in for Excel or in Business Modeler. For monitoring, you can view version information in the lower-right corner of the Dashboard. Or, you can view version information by clicking the Office button and then clicking the Resources tab.

The cumulative update includes several installation packages. You must install the packages as described in the "Installation information" section.

Restart information

You must restart the computer after you apply the update.

Replacement information

This is the first cumulative update for PerformancePoint Server 2007. This does not replace any other cumulative updates.

Registry information

You do not have to make any changes to the registry to use this update.

Installation information

Cumulative Update 1 includes planning and monitoring installation packages. The installation packages must be installed on the respective computers as described in the following table.

SQL script

Additionally, you must run a script in SQL Query Analyzer against Planning Application databases that exist on a SQL server. Copy the script that is provided by the customer support representative into SQL Query Analyzer, and then run the script.

File information

This cumulative update may not contain all the files that you must have to fully update a product to the latest build. This cumulative update contains only the files that you must have to correct the issues that are listed in this article.
The Global version of this update uses a Microsoft Windows Installer package to install the update. The dates and the times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in the following table. When you view the file information, the date is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
