INTRODUCTION

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • It takes longer than expected to open a large HTML file in Word 2003.
  • Consider the following scenario. You open a read-only Word 2003 document that contains an ActiveX control from a Windows SharePoint Services document library. When you click Save on the File menu in Word 2003 to save a local copy of the document, you receive the following warning message:
http://SharePoint_server_name/library_path/Document_name.doc cannot be accessed. The file may not exist or may be in use or the web server is temporarily busy.
After you close the warning message, the Save as dialog box opens. After you select a different location for the document, you click Save. Then, you exit Word 2003. Later, you use Word 2003 to open the document from where you saved it locally. The ActiveX control appears as a picture. In this scenario, if you right-click the control and then click Object, you receive the following error message:
    Object is corrupt.
