Notes
  • This article assumes that all the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server roles are installed on the same computer. For more information about server roles, see the Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementation guide. To download the implementation guide, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=104413
  • This article assumes that you are updating the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web site URL from http://<crmserver>:5555 to http://<crmserver>:81. This also updates the Internet-Facing Deployment (IFD) URL from http://<crm>.<domain>.com:5555 to http://<crm>.<domain>.com:81.
  1. Update the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web site port in Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS). To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type inetmgr, and then click OK.
    2. Expand Server, and then expand Web Sites.
    3. Right-click the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web site, and then click Properties.
    4. On the Web Site tab, enter 81 for the TCP port number, and then click OK.
  2. Update the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server registry subkeys. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2. Locate the following registry subkey:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM
    3. Right-click the ServerUrl registry entry, and then click Modify.
    4. In the Value data field, enter 81.

Note The updated value resembles the following:
      http://<crmserver>:81/MSCRMServices
    5. Click OK.
    6. Right-click the LocalSdkPort registry entry, and then click Modify.
    7. In the Base section, click Decimal. Then, enter 81 in the Value data field.
    8. Click OK.

    1. Extract the Deployment Configuration tool, and then put it in the location on the CRM server.
    2. Back up the MSCRM_Config and OrgName_MSCRM databases.
    3. At the command prompt, type the path to the directory that contains the Microsoft.crm.deploymentconfigtool.exe file, and then run the following commands to correct this setting:
      microsoft.crm.deploymentconfigtool addresssettings update -webapprootdomain:<NewConnection>
      microsoft.crm.deploymentconfigtool addresssettings update -sdkrootdomain:<NewConnection>
Note The placeholder <NewConnection> represents the URL without the "http://" at the beginning of the URL. The statement resembles the following:
      microsoft.crm.deploymentconfigtool addresssettings update -webapprootdomain:crmserver:81
      microsoft.crm.deploymentconfigtool addresssettings update -sdkrootdomain:crmserver:81
Note If you also set up the IFD URL, you must modify two more columns in the DeploymentProperties table. To do this, run the following statements:
      microsoft.crm.deploymentconfigtool ifdsettings update -sdkrootdomain:<domain>.com:81
      microsoft.crm.deploymentconfigtool ifdsettings update -webapprootdomain:<domain>.com:81
  4. Restart the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Asynchronous Processing Services. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
    2. Right-click Microsoft CRM Asynchronous Processing Service, and then click Restart.
  5. Log on to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web application by using the new URL.

You must update the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics CRM Data Migration Manager, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM-Exchange E-mail Router to use the new Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web site URL.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook

To update the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook to use the new URL, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Have each client run the Configuration Wizard utility
  1. Click Start, click Programs, click Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, and then click Configuration Wizard.
  2. Follow the steps in the Configuration Wizard utility, and then enter the new URL for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server.

Note If you set up the IFD URL, you have to clear the Use the same Web address check box. When you do this, you can use the new IFD URL when you log on to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web site over the Internet.
Method 2: Update the registry subkeys on each client computer
  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Locate the following registry subkey:

  3. Right-click the following registry entries, click Modify, and then update the value by entering the updated port number:
    • IntranetDiscoveryUrl
    • IntranetServerUrl
    • IntranetWebAppUrl
    • PlatformRoot
Note If you set up the IFD URL, you have to update the following registry entries by entering the updated port number:
    • ExtranetDiscoveryUrl
    • ExtranetServerUrl
    • ExtranetWebAppUrl

Microsoft Dynamics CRM-Exchange E-mail Router

To update Microsoft Dynamics CRM E-mail Router to use the new URL, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, Click Programs, click Microsoft Dynamics CRM E-mail Router, and then click Microsoft Dynamics CRM E-mail Router Configuration Manager.

    • ExtranetDiscoveryUrl
    • IntranetDiscoveryUrl
    • IntranetServerUrl
    • IntranetWebAppUrl
    • ServerUrl
    • WebAppUrl
    Notes
    • If you enable the My Company option in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Data Migration Manager, the URL is the intranet URL. This URL resembles the following:
      http://<crmserver>:81
    • If you have an IFD deployment and if you enable the An Online Service Provider option in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Data Migration Manager, the URL is the IFD URL. This URL resembles the following:
      http://<crm>.<domain>.com:81
Notes
  • If you want to update the hostheader on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web site, follow all the steps in the "More Information" section to update the registry subkeys and SQL Server database columns.
  • The Microsoft Dynamics CRM Connector for SQL Server Reporting Services does not have to be updated because no server URL information is stored in the registry.
