Remote access policies that have conditions that are based on the network access server (NAS) IPv6 Address attribute do not function correctly in Windows Server 2008.
This issue occurs because the remote access server does not send the NAS IPv6 Address attribute to the Network Policy Server (NPS) in Windows Server 2008.
To work around this issue, use the NAS identifier (the host name of the computer) instead of the NAS IPv6 Address identifier in the conditions of the relevant remote access policies.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, type nps.msc in the Start Search box, and then click NPS under Programs.

Double-click the remote access policies in the following locations:
- NPS \Policies\Connection Request Policies

NPS \Policies\Network Policies
- In the Remote Access Policies Properties dialog box, click the Conditions tab.

Select the condition that has the NAS IPv6 Address identifier attribute, and then click Remove to remove the attribute in the list.
- On the Conditions tab, click Add to open the Select Condition dialog box.

In the Select Condition dialog box, select the NAS identifier attribute, and then click Add.
- In the box that appears, type the host name of the server, and then click OK.

Click Apply, and then click the OK button on the Conditions tab in the Remote Access Policies Properties dialog box.
