SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange and in Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for SMTP Gateways, files that are compressed by using the Bzip2 compression algorithm are detected as unknown file types. Therefore, Antigen 9.0 for Exchange and Antigen 9.0 for SMTP Gateways do not correctly detect or scan files that have the .bz2 file name extension.

RESOLUTION

After you install Hotfix Rollup 1 for Antigen 9.0 Service Pack 1, the BZ2 file type is listed in the File Types list when you configure file filtering in Antigen. Therefore, Antigen 9.0 for Exchange and Antigen 9.0 for SMTP Gateways correctly detect and then correctly scan files that have the .bz2 file name extension.
