SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you programmatically create incoming e-mail messages and outgoing e-mail messages. Then, you use the Response messages of the SetStateEmailRequest object to set the incoming e-mail messages and the outgoing e-mail messages to Completed. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Crm Exception: Message: The specified sender type is not supported., ErrorCode: -2147220989, InnerException: System.ArgumentException: The specified sender type is not supported.
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the e-mail messages cannot be changed. Additionally, the e-mail messages cannot be sent to a different user, to a different contact, or to a different lead.
This problem occurs if the value in the From field of the e-mail message is not a system user or a queue.
RESOLUTIONThis problem is fixed in the latest cumulative update rollup for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
