FIX: Error message when you use the Response messages of the SetStateEmailRequest object to set e-mail messages to Completed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0: "Crm Exception: Message: The specified sender type is not supported"Article ID: 947860 - View products that this article applies to. SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you programmatically create incoming e-mail messages and outgoing e-mail messages. Then, you use the Response messages of the SetStateEmailRequest object to set the incoming e-mail messages and the outgoing e-mail messages to Completed. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Crm Exception: Message: The specified sender type is not supported., ErrorCode: -2147220989, InnerException: System.ArgumentException: The specified sender type is not supported.
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the e-mail messages cannot be changed. Additionally, the e-mail messages cannot be sent to a different user, to a different contact, or to a different lead.
This problem occurs if the value in the From field of the e-mail message is not a system user or a queue.
