SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You remove the Write privilege from a security role for an entity, such as the Contact entity, in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
  • You assign the role to a user.
  • The security role for the entity that does not have the Write privilege has the Append to privilege.
In this scenario, the New Record button and the Add Existing Record button are missing. You will still be able to add activities by using the Actions menu.
