Article ID: 948622 - Last Review: February 20, 2008 - Revision: 1.1 FIX: Error message when you run the sp_MSenum_distribution stored procedure for a transactional replication in SQL Server 2005Bug #: 50002321 (SQL Hotfix) Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2005 fix release. SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. In Microsoft SQL Server 2005, you configure a transactional replication that allows anonymous subscriptions. Then, you run the sp_MSenum_distribution stored procedure to enlist all the Distribution Agents. In this scenario, you receive the following error message: Msg 8115, Level 16, State 2,
Procedure sp_MSenum_distribution, Line 123 Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type nvarchar. CAUSEWhen a Distribution Agent is created, a new record is added to the Distribution..MSdistribution_agents table. Each Distribution Agent is assigned an agent ID. The agent ID is an automatically incrementing column. If a Distribution Agent is deleted, the agent ID is not reused. When the agent ID is larger than 9,999, this issue occurs because SQL Server cannot convert the agent ID to a value of the nvarchar(4) data type. RESOLUTIONThe fix for this issue was first released in Cumulative Update 6.
