INTRODUCTION

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issues:
948981 Outlook 2007 takes longer than expected to show free/busy information for meeting participants
948982 Updated information is not present in a resource's meeting entry in Outlook 2007
948983 Outlook 2007 takes longer than expected to populate the preview pane when you receive an encrypted e-mail message
948984 An Outlook 2007 e-mail message remains in the Outbox after you have moved it to a personal folder in Outlook Web Access
948985 Items can be added to a SharePoint .pst file even when the PstDisableGrow registry value for Outlook 2007 is configured to prevent the addition of items
This hotfix fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • In the Japanese version of Outlook 2007, you subscribe to different discussion lists that are on different servers that are running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. You use the Move to folder command to move a discussion thread from one discussion list to another discussion list on a different Windows SharePoint Services server.

    When you do this, various Japanese characters may become corrupted in the thread's title and in the body of the thread's messages.
  • You create a new message form that automatically performs an operation in the To box field. For example, the form enters an alias into that field when you send the form as a message. You click Run This Form in the Form group on the Developer tab and then send the message.

    If Outlook 2007 is in Online Exchange Mode, you receive the following error message:
    Operation Failed.
    If Outlook 2007 is in Cached Exchange Mode, the message remains in the Outbox, and it cannot be sent.
  • You open Outlook 2007 and then click Calendar. On the Action menu, you click View Group Calendars. In the Group Schedules window, you select a group calendar and then click Open. Then, you view the calendar for a group member.

    When you close that calendar, Outlook 2007 crashes.
  • In the Chinese or Korean version of Outlook, you add a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 user account as a delegate to your account. After you set the permissions that you want to be available to this user, you click to select the Automatically send a message to delegate summarizing these permissions check box. Then, you click OK.

    The user receives the notification message. However, when the user views the message, the subject line consists only of question marks.
  • You use Microsoft Duet with Outlook 2007. You create a meeting that has a custom property. Then, you send the meeting request to several attendees.

    Later, you update the custom property in the meeting with a new property value. Then, you send the update to the meeting attendees.

    When the attendees view the custom property in the updated meeting, the custom property is not updated with the new property value.
  • You use an address book provider that uses drop-down lists in the Find dialog box. When you close the Find dialog box, Outlook 2007 crashes.

    Outlook 2007 also crashes if the Recipient Properties dialog box uses these drop-down lists.
  • You have access to an Outlook 2007 calendar that belongs to another user. When you view this calendar, the name of the calendar resembles the following name:
    Calendar in Mailbox – user_name
    If you click Mail in the navigation pane and then return to Calendar view, the name for the shared calendar changes to "Calendar."
  • You work with several shared calendars in Outlook 2007 on a computer that is running Windows Vista. You open and close the different shared calendars. When you close a shared calendar, Outlook 2007 may crash.
  • You drag an item to a new location in Outlook 2007. Then, you cancel the move to the new location when you are prompted. When you do this, the item is not moved to the new location, and the item is deleted from the original location.

    This issue occurs when you use Microsoft Duet with Outlook 2007 or when you use the OnExplorerBeforeItemPaste event handler to catch drag-and-drop events. When you cancel the move, the item is deleted from its original location.
  • You create an add-in by using the Outlook 2007 object model so that you can monitor the ItemAdd and ItemChange events in the ContactItems collection. You open Outlook 2007 and then load the add-in. Then, you log on to your e-mail account through Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access.

    In Outlook Web Access, you create a new contact. The add-in registers that a new contact was added. Then, you make a change to this new contact in Outlook Web Access.

    When you do this, the add-in incorrectly registers that a new contact was added. The add-in does not register that the contact was changed.
