SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. On a client computer that is running Microsoft Office Communicator 2007, you exit Microsoft Office Outlook. Then, you try to shut down the client computer. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
The data file 'Mailbox - user' was not closed properly. This file is being checked for problems.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, download and install the Office Communicator 2007 update package that is dated April 2, 2008. For more information about this update package, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
