INTRODUCTION

This article describes the support policy for the Hierarchical Address Book (HAB) feature in Microsoft Exchange Server and in Microsoft Office Outlook.

MORE INFORMATION

The HAB is an add-in for Exchange Server and for Outlook. Additionally, the HAB provides additional address book functionality for Outlook users. The HAB is tested for the Japanese and English versions of Exchange Server and Outlook. However, the HAB is supported only for the Japanese market.

To use the HAB, you must extend the Active Directory schema in the Active Directory forest in which you installed Exchange Server. Running Exchange Server in a forest with the HAB schema extensions is fully supported. The schema classes and attributes that are added to Active Directory for the HAB are compatible with all languages and versions of Exchange Server. The HAB schema extensions will also be compatible with future versions of Exchange Server.

Microsoft provides support for issues that are related to the installation, the features, and the functionality of the HAB.
