How to back up and restore the registry in Windows XP and Windows Vista On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You are using a Chinese edition of Microsoft Expression Web on a computer that is also running Microsoft Office Professional 2007. You have configured Chinese (Hong Kong SAR) as the primary language in Office Professional 2007. In this scenario, when you click the New command on the File menu in Expression Web, the New dialog box that appears is empty. The New dialog box should contain menu items that are used to create Web sites or Web-related objects. For example, the following list includes some menu items that you typically can view in the New dialog box:
CAUSEThis problem is caused by a bug in an Office shared component. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, you must configure two registry values and then change the primary editing language in Office to a language other than Chinese (Hong Kong SAR). To do this, follow these steps. Step 1: Configure the registryTo do this, follow these steps.Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
