INTRODUCTION

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
Outlook 2003 provided a method for members of the Administrators group to force a specific signature to be used in e-mail messages and to prevent users from changing that signature. This method uses one the following registry subkeys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\MailSettings
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\MailSettings
However, users can still use the Signature feature to change the e-mail signature settings in Outlook 2007, even if members of the Administrators group configure one of the following registry subkeys for Outlook 2007:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\MailSettings
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\MailSettings
