Known issue with this security update

You install security update 948962 on Microsoft Office Project 2003 Service Pack 2. Then, you try to save a project in the Microsoft Project 98 file format. When you do this, you receive the following error message:

Removal information

An issue in Microsoft Office 2003 causes Office to be partially uninstalled when updates to certain components are installed or uninstalled. This update resolves that issue.

However, when the update is uninstalled, the issue is reintroduced, and Office is partially uninstalled. To prevent this behavior, do not uninstall the update.
