The address rewrite agent does not rewrite the address for Out of Office (OOF) messages in Exchange Server 2007

Expand all | Collapse all

SYMPTOMS

The address rewrite agent on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 edge server is configured to rewrite the domain addresses of certain e-mail messages. Although the address rewrite agent works for most messages, it does not rewrite the address for Out of Office (OOF) messages.

For example, assume that you use the following rewrite command:
New-AddressRewriteEntry "TestOOF" -InternalAddress "fourthcoffee.com" -ExternalAddress "Contoso.com"
In this case, standard outgoing messages show the “@Contoso.com” sender domain. However, the addresses for OOF messages are not rewritten. These addresses continue to use the “@fourthcoffee.com” domain.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Update Rollup 2 for Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1 on the Exchange server. For more information about Update Rollup 2 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1, see the following Exchange Help topic:
Description of Update Rollup 2 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=152558)

STATUS
